The role

We are seeking a driven and editorially excellent Senior Reporter to lead the direction of MIP in the Americas. This is a senior role suited to an experienced B2B journalist with deep curiosity and the ability to learn complex subjects quickly and write compelling copy that will help boutique law firms and IP departments in full-service firms win new business

Key responsibilities

• Write content to an excellent standard and be on hand to edit if required
• Shape and refine MIP’s editorial ‘business of law’ strategy with a forward-thinking approach
• Work closely and liaise with other editorial team members
• Use data analytics to inform editorial decisions and measure success
• Leverage proprietary research data to boost editorial coverage
• Build and maintain a strong book of industry contacts through networking and events
• Chair MIP Awards ceremonies
• Collaborate across functions, including research, marketing, and sales
• Enhance the brand's profile
• Confidently use AI to support and create content
• Commission and edit expert commentary from legal professionals and industry leaders
  
  

  Required Skills & Qualifications

• Exceptional written English
• Strong sense of journalistic instinct and a keen eye for a compelling story
• Bold, and unafraid to test new concepts
• Confident networker and relationship-builder
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Curious and eager to understand complex legal and financial topics
  
  

  Desired Experience

• At least 3 years’ experience in B2B journalism
• Journalism qualification ideal
• Undergraduate degree or higher
