Research and Operations Lead – Benchmark Litigation – New York

Job Purpose

We are seeking an operations leader with demonstrable research skills. As a key member of our team, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong project and stakeholder management skills to organize, execute, and oversee research initiatives, collaborate with team members effectively, managing timelines, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality research outputs while informing strategic decisions through comprehensive research and analysis.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Research & Operations Lead is responsible for skills across three (3) critical themes:

Project Management

  • Planning and executing research projects, defining approaches, timelines, and resource requirements
  • Producing project plans, audits, reviews in preparation of bran launches and releases
  • Ensuring adherence to project timelines and milestones, adjusting plans as needed to meet deadlines
  • Implementing best practices to maintain high research standards
  • Providing strategic recommendations based on research findings, supporting the development of business strategies and decision-making
  • Actively seeking opportunities for process improvement and optimization in research methodologies
  • Providing support and insights for the development of marketing collateral and client-facing materials
  • Preparing detailed trackers and data analysis points to summarize research findings, insights, and actionable recommendations and solutions
  • Preparing and presenting stakeholder-related metrics and key performance indicators
  • Maintaining clean data sets and applying ad hoc website corrections

    Stakeholder Management

  • Setting clear expectations with stakeholders regarding project timelines, deliverables, and outcomes.
  • Scheduling, collaborating and facilitating joint discussions with fellow research, marketing, sales, and product development teams to align research outcome with overall business strategies
  • Establish and maintaining open lines of communication with stakeholders through various channels (routine meetings, emails, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
  • Employing effective communication strategies to foster positive outcomes with stakeholders
  • Identifying potential risks related to stakeholder management and developing strategies to mitigate them
  • Facilitate the understanding and acceptance of organizational changes among stakeholders

    Research Skills

  • Interviewing key litigation lawyers and engaging with firm business development staff
  • Conducting comprehensive research on the litigation market, including legal trends and case studies,
  • Analyzing and identifying key firms and players, market dynamics, and emerging opportunities to innovate
  • Gathering and compiling quantitative and qualitative data into research ranking tables, star lists, editorial analysis, and awards deliverables such as shortlists and winners
  • Monitoring global and regional trends to provide insights into market evolution
  • Representing the brand and building relationships by networking at events and in person interviews/meet

    KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of demonstrable project management, operations execution and stakeholder management
  • Minimum 3 years of high-level market research experience, including interviewing, note-taking, and writing skills
  • Pro-active and solution-oriented mindset with a focus on maintaining positive relationships
  • An independent worker with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Experience in developing detailed project plans while defining the scope of the project
  • Experience in project management of stakeholders to meet project objectives, targets, and deadlines
  • Experience in handling large volumes of data
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn about specialized legal sectors

    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
    We offer a competitive salary, ranging from $60K to $65K per year, depending on skills, qualification, experience, and location, as well as paid holiday and volunteer days. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental and vision coverage, employer matching retirement plan, and flexible working arrangements (with attendance in the office of 2 days per week). Our total compensation packages may also include competitive annual performance bonuses or commissions, depending on the role. These will be discussed with you during the interview process.
